The challenge

A Certified B Corp, Orderly helps increase the profitability and sustainability of some of the world’s biggest names in food and beverage, such as Starbucks and Morrisons, through their innovative supply-chain technology solutions.

While growing, their finance tech-stack became a bit of a tangle. They used a combination of Dext, physical cards from multiple banks, Cledara, and Xero Cash Expenses. For the finance team, reviewing subscription spend and reconciling bank accounts was a tedious, never-ending task, and managing reimbursements through Xero was far from efficient. They needed a way to delegate spend responsibilities without losing control.


Orderly turned to Moss to help them simplify their finance tech-stack. The onboarding process was quick and easy, and the configurable workflows fit perfectly with Orderly’s needs. 

Orderly now uses Moss to streamline reimbursements, enabling immediate payments upon approval. Subscription cards follow a two-step approval process, while credit cards are offered to more team members with set limits and approval workflows. One-off cards are used for travel bookings and hardware purchases, all within their approval policies.

The impact of consolidating their financial tech-stack with Moss has been in all the right places, time and money. Katy estimates that they save approximately one week per month on bank reconciliation. They also managed to cut subscription spend by around £8,000 by cancelling unnecessary subscriptions, and removing unused seats.

On top of these measurable improvements, Moss has made the finance team a whole lot happier. Employees can spend with the autonomy they require while the finance team has complete visibility over spend and how it is tracking against their policies. Plus, they no longer have to spend their time chasing and matching receipts as Moss does it for them.
