These days, the average modern business doesn’t suffer from a lack of data. They suffer from too much of it, in too many places. That’s a relatively recent phenomenon, driven by more and more organisations adopting a data-driven approach to operations, planning, and almost every other aspect of how they work.

The result is finance and ops leaders all too often stitching together exports, spreadsheets, and reports stored in disparate dashboards, just to answer basic questions.

At Moss, we focus on one slice of that problem: giving our customers a clean, real-time view of spend. But, across the UK, there are many other companies tackling the same data challenges for everything from transport and workplaces to enterprise platforms and AI.

In this second instalment in our new content series covering the most promising B2B SaaS companies in the UK, we’ll be focussing on 10 data and transformation specialists that are helping businesses cut through the noise.

How we chose this list

For this spotlight piece, we selected companies that:

  • Turn complex data into usable insight
  • Replace fragmented, manual processes with cohesive systems
  • Help teams make better, faster decisions – with fewer spreadsheets

Each of these is a problem that we’re helping finance teams tackle at Moss. So we want to recognise companies that are doing the same in different sectors.

As with our first shortlist looking at ‘10 UK platforms making back-office work less painful’, it’s important to note that we’re not ranking these companies.

Each one tackles the data chaos problem from a different angle. We’re simply comparing, contrasting, and appreciating some of the stand out performers in this category.

Our badge system

We’re using the same badges as our first shortlist to keep some consistency throughout this series:

Moss all badges

We’ve awarded each company a selection of badges based on their strongest attributes. Now let's get into the list!

RealVNC: Remote access that makes every device reachable

RealVNC badges

First up we have RealVNC, a Cambridge-based remote access software company that lets IT teams securely connect to and control devices anywhere in the world.

How it turns complexity into clarity

Instead of juggling multiple tools or on-site visits, organisations use RealVNC to centralise remote support, maintenance and monitoring. That means faster incident resolution, less travel, and better visibility over fleets of desktops, servers, kiosks or embedded systems.

Where it overlaps with our philosophy

Where Moss is making companies’ spend data accessible from one place, RealVNC is doing the same for device access. It turns a tangle of endpoints into something that feels manageable and observable, something many IT teams struggle with daily.

SolutionsPT: Industrial data and control in one view

SolutionsPT badges

Second on our list is SolutionsPT, a long-standing industrial IT and software provider for the UK & Ireland. Best known for being an AVEVA partner, SolutionsPT helps manufacturers and infrastructure operators deploy industrial data platforms that unify plant information.

How it turns complexity into clarity

SolutionsPT enables real-time monitoring, alarms and reporting by standardising how data is collected and visualised from machines, lines and sites. This allows teams to move away from manual logbooks and siloed systems. For ops, engineering and finance, that translates into fewer blind spots and more consistent performance data.

Where it overlaps with our philosophy

Just as we centralise spend signals across cards and invoices, SolutionsPT centralises operational signals across industrial assets. The result is a single, trusted picture of data from connected systems.

OCF Limited: Infrastructure for serious data workloads

OCF Limited badges

OCF Limited is a Sheffield-based specialist in high-performance computing, storage, cloud and AI infrastructure for universities, research organisations and enterprises across the UK & Ireland.

How it turns complexity into clarity

They design and deliver tailored high performance computing clusters and data platforms so teams can run simulation, modelling and analytics workloads reliably and at scale, with the right monitoring and management around them. Instead of piecing together ad-hoc hardware, clients get a well-structured environment with clear data for performance and utilisation.

Where it overlaps with our philosophy

Where Moss takes care of the plumbing around spend data; OCF does the same for compute and data-intensive workloads. They give organisations a robust backbone for data work and the decisions that depend on it.

AG Grid: Turning raw data into usable grids

AG Grid badges

AG Grid is a London-based company that provides a JavaScript data grid and charting library used by thousands of teams to build data-heavy internal tools and enterprise applications. Its feature-rich grid supports React, Angular, Vue, and vanilla JS, with both open-source and commercial editions.

How it turns complexity into clarity

Where many data products stop at the export stage, AG Grid aims to make that data workable. It wires sorting, filtering, grouping, pivoting, inline editing, integrated charting and more into live data sources. This gives engineering and analytics teams the ability to present complex datasets in a way non-technical users can explore without ever touching a spreadsheet.

Where it overlaps with our philosophy

AG Grid’s product represents a nice parallel to Moss. We provide a clean, structured view of spend that finance teams can slice and segment without wrestling with CSVs. Meanwhile, AG Grid is the underlying toolkit that many companies use to give their own users grid-level clarity on the operational or financial data they care about.

Road Tech Computer Systems: Real-time visibility for fleets

Road Tech badges

Road Tech provides one of the most complete transport software suites in the UK, with systems covering tachograph analysis, dynamic vehicle tracking, licence checking and full transport management.

How it turns complexity into clarity

Rather than pulling data from separate tachograph tools, trackers and spreadsheets, Road Tech customers can see driver hours, vehicle locations and compliance status in one place. Combined with automated analysis and reporting, this data supports companies EU Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive compliance.

Where it overlaps with our philosophy

Where Moss gives finance real-time visibility on spend, Road Tech gives ops leaders real-time visibility on fleet behaviour and risk. We’re both doing our bit in turning historically reactive functions into data-driven ones.

Semble: Connecting data in private healthcare

Semble badges

Semble is an all-in-one electronic health record and practice management platform for private healthcare providers. It combines clinical records, scheduling, billing, telehealth and patient engagement in a single, cloud-based system.

How it turns complexity into clarity

Semble allows clinics to run the entire patient journey in its system, rather than hopping between booking tools, electronic health records, invoicing software, and email. When combined with integrations via Semble Connect, clinics can plug in diagnostics, billing, CRM and other business systems without custom development.

Where it overlaps with our philosophy

Where Moss gives finance teams a single, real-time view of how money flows through the business, Semble gives private healthcare organisations a single, real-time view of how patients and information flow through their clinics. Both aim to take complex, multi-system environments and make them feel like one coherent platform.

Hubstar: Workplace analytics for the hybrid era

Hubstar

Hubstar is a workplace management and analytics platform that’s designed specifically for hybrid working. Its H₂O hybrid occupancy platform combines space booking, utilisation analytics and hybrid data management in one, easy-to-use suite.

How it turns complexity into clarity

By unifying data from Wi-Fi, sensors, access systems and bookings, Hubstar helps real-estate and workplace teams answer important questions around which spaces are being used, where they can consolidate, and what actually drives attendance.

Where it overlaps with our philosophy

Just as Moss gives finance a clear view of where money is going, Hubstar gives organisations a clear view of how their space is really used. Clarity over these sometimes ambiguous questions can have a huge impact for many businesses.

Xenith: Document and finance automation, not just managed print

Xenith badges

Starting out life as a managed print specialist, Xenith now offers a full suite of document automation, finance automation and intelligent workflow solutions, as well as print and IT services.

How it turns complexity into clarity

With tools for document capture, invoice processing, security and workflow orchestration, Xenith helps organisations clean up paper- and PDF-heavy processes. The outcome is fewer manual keying tasks, better data quality, and tighter control over who can access what.

Where it overlaps with our philosophy

At Moss, we streamline spend processes around cards and invoices. Xenith has a focus on the documents and workflows that sit around them, turning previously opaque, paper-based activity into something that’s fully measurable and optimisable.

Cen Group: Logistics platforms that make movement measurable

Cen Group badges

Based in Birmingham, Cen Group is a company with global reach. It provides transport and logistics systems, including warehouse management, supply chain and fleet management tools across the UK, Middle East and Asia.

How it turns complexity into clarity

Cen Group’s platforms, alongside solutions like CargoWise, help logistics providers and shippers track international and interregional shipments, inventory and fleet activity. The result is fewer blind spots in the supply chain and better information for operational and financial planning.

Where it overlaps with our philosophy

Just as Moss brings clarity to where money is going, Cen Group’s systems bring clarity to where goods are, how they’re moving and how efficiently the network is running.

FluidOne: A backbone for data & AI

FluidOne badges

FluidOne is a UK-based Connected Cloud solutions provider that combines managed IT, cyber security and connectivity into one integrated platform. Crucially, it’s underpinned by its own national fibre network, Platform One, which offers business grade connectivity and is used by more than 2,000 customers.

How it turns complexity into clarity

For data and transformation leaders, FluidOne’s value lies in simplifying complex, hybrid environments. As applications move across on-premises infrastructure, data centres, multiple public clouds, and SaaS, FluidOne gives organisations a coherent, secure way to connect users to critical apps.

Where it overlaps with our philosophy

Where Moss brings clarity to how money flows out of the business, FluidOne brings clarity to how data and applications are reached and protected. It turns a tangle of networks, clouds, and security tools into a managed, measurable Connected Cloud layer that teams can actually build on.

From chaos to clarity, and how Moss fits in

Taken together, these data and transformation specialists have a few things in common. They:

  • Join up systems that used to live in silos
  • Cut down on manual exports and reconciliations
  • Give teams clearer, more timely information to make decisions

Those are exactly the qualities we aim to deliver with Moss. We focus on the spend side of the picture, bringing card, invoice and subscription data into one place, with real-time visibility into what’s being spent, where, and by whom.

And because controls are built into the platform, finance teams don’t just see what’s happening. They can shape and enforce policy in the same place that the spend occurs.
