International payments include those that are made physically while you are abroad as well as online purchases that are made in a foreign currency. Moss uses the Mastercard exchange rate when you make international payments.
Below are the rates you get when you spend in a foreign currency.
How do exchange rates work?
Mastercard (as well as other card schemes) set the exchange rates that are used for international transactions with their cards. These rates are based on minimum exchange rates set by the European Central Bank (ECB), but are set higher than the ECB rates.
Banks are required to show you the base ECB rates as well as any additional rates and fees that are added on top, so you can make the best decision. At Moss, transparency takes a high priority and it is thus important to us to display the Mastercard rates, so you can easily see that we are not charging you any additional fees.
Exchange rates can fluctuate and they may change between the time a transaction is made and the time it is deducted from your available balance. You agree that any change to the exchange rate may be applied immediately and without notice to you.
